"Dear Art Lover,"
A personalised illustration city guide
Dear Art Lover, is a personalised art and illustration-focused city guide created for people
who want to explore Leeds beyond its well-known graffiti and historic art scenes.
The project responds to the lack of accessible information around illustration-based activities,
workshops, and locally available illustration merchandise.
It encourages users to actively engage with the city through colouring, collecting,
and drawing, turning exploration into a playful and creative experience.
The outcome consists of an A3 printed travel guide designed to support discovery, creativity,
and personal expression through playful and interactive engagement with the city.

A3 Travel Guide
The printed guide invites users to visit illustration-focused locations across Leeds and discover the large-scale illustrations
and signature visual elements found within each space.
These site-specific illustrations are mapped within the guide, encouraging users to actively look for them inside each location. The experience relies on physical presence, making the act of visiting essential. Searching for where each illustration is located adds an element of play and discovery. Creative challenges, such as using only dots or a single colour, encourage experimentation and turn observation into an active creative process.
Each location also includes star ratings, atmosphere descriptions, and noise levels, allowing users to choose spaces based on personal preference and mood.
Dear Art Lover,
